Week at a Glance

Hello Central Families,

Happy Holidays!!  I know I am not alone in my desire to usher 2020 out and the hope that comes with ringing in a new year.  There is so much I look forward to in 2021, but nothing more than seeing students coming to school with smiles on their faces. I would imagine that parents feel the same.  I do not know when this is going to happen, but I do know that it IS going to happen.  My New Year’s wish is to have students back on campus as soon as it is safe to do so.

I hope that everybody has a safe holiday break and that you are able to have some fun with your family.

In anticipation for a much needed two week break, we have a fun week planned for our students. Please click the link below to see the activities:

Workplace Giving
Long-time SCEF supporter Maggie Demkin discovered what an enormous impact workplace giving can make when she rallied fellow San Carlos employees around her company’s matching program and helped raise an incredible $90,000! Hear about Maggie’s efforts in her own words at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEP0OlEPppA. San Carlos Little League

SCLL invites you to "Meet" a Major Leaguer, Daniel Descalso

Register for an online meet-and-greet with Daniel Descalso. Daniel grew up playing San Carlos Little League and attended St. Charles and St. Francis High School. The St. Louis Cardinals drafted him in the third round of the 2007 Major League Baseball (MLB) draft from the University of California, Davis, and he made his MLB debut for the Cardinals in 2010. He later played in MLB for the Colorado Rockies, Arizona Diamondbacks and most recently the Chicago Cubs. He is now a free agent, so hopefully one of our local Bay Area teams will pick him up. His father, George, a former SCLL coach and Board Member, will also join Daniel for the Q&A. Come prepared with some questions you have always wanted to ask a Major Leaguer or a father of a Major Leaguer. This Zoom will take place on Wednesday, December 16 from 7:00-8:00 pm.

Please register here to secure your spot.
