BIG NEWS! Central Middle School Student Wins National Technology Award!

Bowen's award-winning project, "Aftershock Oracle: Machine Learning-Based Aftershock Risk Forecasting for Earthquake Safety," uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to help predict the location, frequency, and strength of earthquake aftershocks.

Inspired by living near the San Andreas Fault and experiencing earthquakes firsthand, Bowen analyzed decades of earthquake data to develop a tool that could help communities better prepare for aftershocks and improve public safety.

Talk about turning curiosity, creativity, and technology into real-world solutions!

Bowen's achievement is an incredible example of the innovative thinking, problem-solving, and passion for learning we love to see in our San Carlos students.

Congratulations, Bowen! Your Central Middle School and San Carlos School District communities are cheering you on! We can't wait to see what you accomplish next!
